The Air and Water Centre recommends the use of this evaporative cooler in bedrooms, living rooms or small rooms. The RAFY81 cooler reduces the air temperature by sucking air into the unit and then blowing it back into the room through a moistened filter. Provided with the cooler is an ice box; this ice box can be placed in the freezer and when needed placed into the water tank to aid in cooling. An ioniser is incorporated in the evaporative cooler this provides cleaner fresher air to the electrostatic settling of dust and the invigorating effect of breathing ions which are found in abundance in the vicinity of waterfalls and mountain tops. Hints for better cooling - For best performance position the cooler in a location that will create a "flow-through" air effect. The greatest cooling effect will be felt if the unit is operated in a partly opened doorway or window with the "cool" air directed into the room. It is also important to have a door or window partly opened away from the air cooler, in order to create a the "flow through" effect. The recommended humidity maximum level is 60% or less, which allows a noticeable temperature decrease. The evaporative cooler is not an air conditioner it does not use a compressor and refrigerant gas. You should not expect an evaporative cooler to work as effectively as refrigerated air conditioning.
